Born out of adversary, Pie-Pacifique's humility and compassion drives him to take the lead in standing up for the rights of the downtrodden. Having turned tragedy to triumph he has become a beacon of hope to many. Living thought through the Rwandan atrocities in the 90’s, and witnessing the 1994 Genocide, Pie-Pacifique became the family bread winner at 14, while never giving up on his studies. At 18, the oldest among his siblings and cousins, he became head of a household of nine, while his mother was interned in a military camp for months. Despite the hardships, he graduated high school top of his class. At 20, he went into exile and unintentionally landed up on the Durban beachfront. While learning English, and fighting his way through red tape to enrol at university, he worked as a car guard. Against all odds, Pie-Pacifique graduated from the KZN University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. While studying, he worked as a research assistant, to make ends meet. His hard work and commitment was rewarded in 2006 when he was awarded the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship, the first of many awards and recognitions. After working in Analytics for a number of years, and as the Head of the FPD Business School, Pie-Pacifique launched his own business, focusing on Diversity and Inclusion, as well as Business Development through putting the human element into the work process to maximise potential for individuals and business. As a Speaker, Pie-Pacifique travels extensively and has addressed audiences in the USA and London.
